Chris Kudela blends the sensibilities of the traditional singer/songwriter with the heart of an indie rocker, which makes for a compelling brand of lyric-driven power pop that speaks to both the head and the heart in the tunes crafted for this 6-song EP. Write It Over, Kudela’s first official release, contains tracks that run the gamut from all-out anthems like Greenroom and TKO Chicago to raw, stripped-down offerings like the reimagined Ring of Fire and the bluesy Wine & Whiskey, which recalls the Stones during their Exile on Main Street days.

Themes of love and desire permeate this set, and disillusionment wreaks havoc on the dreamers who struggle to make sense of their hopes and expectations. Can redemption be found in the sober attempt at love by the baggage-laden best friends in Hanover Street? Or will heartache wreck the jilted lover haunted by his own desires in Finish What You Start? Can one find a new direction among the ashes of love and simply rewrite their own story? While the answers may remain elusive, Write It Over tussles with these questions with a fearless wit and self-deprecating sense of humor that add to the appeal of this balanced collection.

...I will gladly admit my reaction when first spinning the disc, I immediately thought "I wish I made this album." That's how good it is and how deeply I'm hooked. ”
